HACRET's work is guided by ten core values rooted in human rights, transparency, integrity, teamwork and respect for diversity. Learn about our values and our approach to disability inclusion.

HACRET&#039;s mandate is guided by Human Rights-based and Basic Needs approaches, including:
- The Principles of Justice embodied in the Charter of the United Nations
- The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- The UN Declaration of the Rights of Handicapped Children and Human Rights of PWDs (in force since 2008)
- The Tanzanian Persons with Disabilities Act, No 9 of 2010
- The Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania (which recognizes equality for all)
- The National Policy on Disability 2004
- Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989
- The Standards Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities, 1993These approaches promote full participation of PWDs — particularly children, youth and women — in family, household and community life, ensuring no discrimination or negative attitudes in any form of life system.</p>
